Returning Student Housing
A Campus to Come Home to
Currently enrolled Coppin State University students who live on campus or want to live on campus for the 2023-2024 year must participate in the housing lottery and re-contracting process. This process lets students select roommate(s) and room assignments for the upcoming year.
As residence hall availability allows, we assign all returning students to Dedmond Hall.
Re-contracting Eligibility
To be eligible to live on campus, returning students must:
- Have a 2.0 minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA)
- Have no history of Student Code of Conduct judicial violations
- Have a current student account with no outstanding debts
Housing Lottery and Re-contracting Application
The application is open from March 1, 2023 - May 4, 2023.
All eligible students, including Honors Program and athletes, interested in on-campus housing must complete the application. Any student who misses the application deadline can apply for the waitlist.
Housing Lottery and Recontracting Application 2022-2023 (Application Closed)
Lottery Numbers
Eligible students who meet the criteria and apply by the deadline get a lottery number. Lottery numbers are based upon each returning student's class standing and cumulative GPA.
The Office of Residence Life and Housing provides lottery numbers at random and residents are able to make a room selection on their scheduled lottery group date.
Eligible students receive emails with their lottery numbers, online selection date, and instructions for room selection
Online Housing Selection will be May 12 - May 15, 2023.
Honors Program and Athletes
Eligible Honors Program scholars and athletes will be assigned rooms during the summer.
The Office of Housing will send room assignment information to students by email.
Covid-19 and Housing Availability
Housing returned to 100% capacity during the 2021-2022 academic year. In addition, we no longer require Covid-19 vaccination to reside on campus or proof of a negative Covid-19 test prior to move-in.
