2. Financial Aid Next Steps

• Submit the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to apply for financial aid, studentaid.gov/. School code: 002068.

3. Residence Life and Housing Next Steps

1. Complete your housing application here. (Priority Deadline: May 15th)

2. Submit your $150 room deposit here.

3. Your Coppin State University email address is NOT needed to complete the housing application or deposit payment. If prompted to enter an email, you may enter your personal email address. Contact the Office of Residence Life & Housing at 410.951.6399 or housing@coppin.edu if you need assistance with the application.

4. Placement Testing Next Steps

All new students must take the 30-40 minute Math Placement test to determine their most appropriate first math course. There are two options to take the test; virtually or in-person. Placement Testing must be completed prior to booking advising appointment and attending orientation.

• Transfer students transferring a college credit bearing Math are exempt. 

• First- Year students with a 470 SAT or 11 ACT are exempt. 

• In-person and drop-in testing are available Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm. You must book an appointment at least 2 weeks prior for a drop-in time. After registration, arrival instructions will be sent.

• If you need to test virtually, you can book an appointment online. After booking, please email your Student ID# and date of birth to bpreston@coppin.edu to set up your testing voucher. You must have a computer with camera and mic capabilities and high-speed internet for this option.

5. Student Account Creation & Set-up Next Steps

First-year & Transfer students

Your Coppin State ID number and student email address have been emailed to you. You will use your username to access your Eaglelinks account and email address to access the online orientation platform.

• Visit Eaglelinks to set up your account using your username. 
• Your username are all character in your email before the @ symbol. 
• Your password can be set by going here or by selecting "reset password' on the Eaglelinks login page 

6. Credit Evaluations

• Transfer students, please contact our transfer coordinator, Dr. Nicole Lee if you have not received your transfer credit evaluation.
• Advance Standing First Year students, or students who took college courses while in high school, should send an official college transcript to the Office of Admissions.
• First Year students should be sure to inform your advisor during your advising appointment that you took these courses.  

7. Advising Next Steps

Advising for new students begins April 17th. First-year and Transfer students must schedule an advising appointment in addition to attending orientation. Use the chart below to ensure you are booking an appointment with the appropriate Academic Advisor based on your major.

8. Orientation Next Steps

New students are required to participate in one in-person new student orientation as well as complete the online orientation modules. The dates for our in-person orientations are below. It is suggested that you complete the online orientation prior to attending the in-person session of your choice. You can access the online Orientation platform here. You must first activate your Eaglelinks account by setting your password.

Summer Academic Success Academy (SASA) Next Steps* (invitation only)

If you were invited to attend SASA, you should complete ONLY the following SASA next steps. Visit the SASA website for more information like deadlines, FAQs, and the programs coordinators contact information here.

2. Review SASA information session recording to learn more about the program here. 

3. Submit your $300 SASA enrollment fee here.

5. At the conclusion of the semester, send your final official high school and/or college transcripts. This transcript must include the graduation date and or last term enrolled. Additionally, this transcript must be unopened (by mail) or emailed to admissions@coppin.edu, directly from your school. * If you took college dual enrollment courses while in high school, be certain to have an official transcript sent from the college.

6. Placement Testing  - Students that have been accepted into the SASA program will receive an email confirmation from Latoya Clark, Director of Mentoring and Bridge Program. Upon receipt of this email, you should schedule your math placement test exam. All SASA participants must complete the math placement exam by July 1, 2024.

7. Advising - SASA participants will attend new student orientation during week 5 of the program. You do not need to register for orientation. You will be registered by SASA staff. Your new student orientation date will be provided to you during SASA. Advising will take place during your designated new student orientation. You do not need to schedule an advising appointment.

F1 International Students

International students, before completing your next steps for enrollment, contact Ms. Andrea Monier, amonier@coppin.edu, to confirm your requirements for I-20 issuance have been received.
