Dr. Person currently serves an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Coppin State University, teaching courses such as Strategic Sport Communication, Retail Management, and Introduction to Business and Economics. Dr. Person advises students on career development and internship opportunities; she also serves as a department coordinator for the student ambassador program.
As the former Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD, she managed the business logistics of a Division I athletic department with 14 programs. Dr. Person also designed and produced various department special events and secured significant grant funding focused on supporting academic success.
Dr. Person's professional experience extends beyond academia. She has held roles such as NBA All-Star Weekend logistics director, program coordinator for the Baltimore City Public School’s Basketball Academy, director of events for Bickerstaff Sports & Entertainment, account executive for The Baltimore City Convention Center, assistant marketing director for the Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall, and the tournament coordinator for a local PGA Tour Champions tournament.
Dr. Person holds a Doctor of Education in Global Sport Leadership from East Tennessee State University, a Master of Science in Sport Administration from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Morgan State University. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, the National Association of Collegiate Athletic Directors, and Women Leaders in Sport.
