In the News: Coppin State University to Launch New Initiative to Support Male Student Retention
The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education (JBHE) is spotlighting Coppin State University's Coppin Male Initiative, a structured mentorship and engagement program designed to support male students throughout their academic journey.
As President Anthony L. Jenkins shared with JBHE, Coppin is not only Maryland's leading HBCU for male enrollment growth but is also retaining male students at a rate 20 percentage points above the national average.
The initiative will focus on accountability groups within academic majors and residential communities, expanded opportunities for leadership and civic engagement, and a campus culture rooted in connection, belonging, and achievement. Read the full feature below.
