Media Advisory: Coppin State University to Host 124th Commencement on May 17, 2024

BALTIMORE – Coppin State University proudly announces its 124th Commencement Ceremony, honoring the academic accomplishments of the Class of 2024 on Friday, May 17. Dr. Linda L. Singh, distinguished as Maryland’s first African-American and first woman Adjutant General (retired), will deliver the keynote address, inspiring graduates as they embark on their next journey. 

Graduates will take the traditional walk, starting from the Parlett L. Moore Library quad, passing by the iconic statue of Fanny Jackson Coppin, and culminating at the fields of the Physical Education Complex, where the ceremony will commence. 

Class of 2024 Highlights:  

More than 250 bachelor’s degrees, nearly 50 master’s degrees, 10 doctoral degrees, and three (3) honorary degrees, Dr. Eugenia Collier; Larry S. Gibson, JD; and William "Billy" Murphy, Jr., JD, will be conferred during the ceremony.  

Notably, one Coppin Eagle marks a significant familial milestone as the 10th member of her family to graduate from Coppin State University.
