Eagle Nation Invited to Celebrate Pride, Tradition and Connection During I Love Coppin Week
October 12–16 celebration will honor Coppin’s namesake, recognize student leadership and bring the campus community together
BALTIMORE — What makes Coppin feel like home? For some, it is a friendship formed between classes. For others, it is a professor who sees their potential, a student organization that gives them a voice or the energy of cheering for the Eagles.
I Love Coppin Week invites students, faculty and staff to celebrate those connections October 12–16, 2026, through activities highlighting university pride, campus traditions and the people who make Coppin special.
The annual October celebration offers students an opportunity to build relationships beyond the classroom and take part in traditions they can carry with them long after graduation.
The week begins with the coronation of Mister and Miss Coppin and the Royal Court on Monday, October 12, at 6 p.m. in James Weldon Johnson Auditorium. The ceremony places student leadership at the center of the celebration.
On Tuesday, October 13, the fifth annual First Lady’s Wellness Walk will bring the community together for cancer awareness under the theme “Boots on the Ground.” Hosted by First Lady Toinette Jenkins and President Anthony L. Jenkins, the event will feature dinner, an Awareness Trailride and activities emphasizing “Women & Men — Stronger Together.” Participants are encouraged to wear Western attire.
A meaningful highlight will be the Fanny Jackson Coppin Birthday Celebration on Thursday, October 15, at noon at her campus statue. The gathering will honor the university’s namesake, whose work as an educator helped expand opportunities for generations of African Americans.
Her legacy gives the week a deeper purpose: celebrating the opportunities education creates and the responsibility to help others succeed.
Other scheduled activities include breast cancer awareness programming, Scary Movie Night, Battle of the DJs and CSU All Star Day. Eagle Nation can also support Coppin volleyball during home games against Morgan State.
