Coppin State's Dr. Ann-Marie Waterman Appointed Treasurer of Institute for Women Entrepreneur Excellence Board

BALTIMORE – Coppin State University is proud to announce that Dr. Ann-Marie Waterman, Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, has been appointed Treasurer of the Institute for Women Entrepreneur Excellence (IWEE) Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term.

 

A respected higher education executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience, Dr. Waterman has built a distinguished career in university administration, fiscal affairs, enrollment management, finance, human resources, and strategic operations. She has served in executive leadership roles for nearly two decades, overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets and leading initiatives that strengthen institutional effectiveness and student success.

 

At Coppin State, Dr. Waterman serves as Chief of Staff to the President, providing executive leadership and operational oversight for key university initiatives. Prior to joining Coppin, she held senior leadership positions at Howard University, the University of the District of Columbia, and The College Board. During her career, she has managed major scholarship programs, enrollment operations, financial aid, admissions, and administrative functions while advancing organizational excellence across higher education.

 

"I am honored to serve as Treasurer of the IWEE Board and to support its mission of helping women entrepreneurs succeed," said Dr. Waterman. "I look forward to working with my fellow board members to expand opportunities for innovation and business development throughout Maryland."

 

Dr. Waterman earned her Bachelor of Arts in History, Master of Arts in Organizational Communications, Master of Business Administration, and Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Howard University.

 

IWEE is a Maryland nonprofit dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs through programming, education, and access to resources. The organization was established in collaboration with Maryland's Historically Black Colleges and Universities, including Coppin State University.
