Coppin State University is advancing faculty excellence through its Spring 2026 Faculty Success & Development Initiative, supporting 18 faculty members whose work is driving innovation, strengthening research, and enhancing student success.

The initiative advances faculty-led efforts in health equity, artificial intelligence, education, environmental justice, and workforce development—further solidifying Coppin’s position as a premier urban university.

“This moment reflects the strength, purpose, and growing impact of our faculty,” said Anthony L. Jenkins, PhD, president of Coppin State University. “Our faculty are not only advancing knowledge in their fields; they are transforming lives in our classrooms and communities. Their work is shaping the future of Baltimore and beyond while preparing our students to lead in a complex, global society. This is not just progress. This is Coppin in motion.”

The Spring 2026 initiative reflects Coppin’s strategic focus on aligning faculty scholarship with student outcomes and community impact. By investing in projects that integrate research, teaching, and real-world application, the university continues to strengthen its academic foundation while expanding its role as a driver of innovation in Baltimore and beyond.

“These awards reflect our commitment to educational effectiveness,” said Chanta Haywood, PhD, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “By connecting faculty research with classroom instruction, we ensure that every Coppin student receives a transformative education that prepares them to lead in a global economy.”
