Kelli Renee Jackson M.S., PMP

Kelli Renee Jackson serves as the Director of IT Projects and Products for the Division of Information Technology, a role she stepped into after nearly two decades of building her career at the university. Since joining in 2007, she has moved through positions that span the full range of campus technology - Client Computing Specialist, Manager of Digital A/V Services, Assistant Director of Digital A/V Services, and Director of the Digital User Experience Team (DUET). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Computing and Psychology from Hood College and a Master of Science in Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

That combination of technical depth and management perspective has drawn recognition well beyond campus. Career Communications Group's Women of Color Magazine named her a Technology Rising Star in 2014, and the following year she helped develop the curriculum for AVIXA's Technology Managers Course while serving as a subject matter expert for its A/V Manager's course.  She completed the New IT Manager's training program at EDUCAUSE Connect in 2016 and returned to the EDUCAUSE conference in 2017 to present on "Multiple Approaches to Learning Space Design" and "Digital Signage as a Strategy to Transform the Student Experience."  In 2023, she joined the EDUCAUSE panel that shaped the 2024 Top 10 report on the most pressing technology issues facing higher education, and she has continued to invest in her own practice, completing a Project Management certificate through eCornell in November 2023 and earning her Project Management Professional (PMP) credential in September 2024.

Kelli also provides her expertise to other areas of the campus community.  She serves on the University Day, Convocation, and Commencement committees, provides technical guidance on grants, and co-advises Students Open to Unique Love (SOUL).  She has also mentored with Connecting Ladies Across Campus (CLAC) and taught Freshman Seminar as an adjunct professor.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led the DUET team through the campus's transition to telework. In 2024, at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday tribute program, she was honored with Coppin State University's “Eagle Award,” given to those who embody Dr. King's spirit, strong character, work ethic, and contributions to society.

Her expertise spans technology and resource management, technical support, A/V troubleshooting, virtual and hybrid event support, system design, control system programming, project management, data-driven decision-making, and strategic planning.  Across all of it, she brings an approach grounded in exemplary customer service and collegial relationships, the kind of foundation that helps Coppin State University maintain its reputation for excellence, on campus and well beyond it.
