Campus Police
Coppin State University offers digital electronic fingerprinting services for both Maryland Criminal Record Checks and National (FBI) Criminal Record Checks.
Our staff is authorized and certified by the State of Maryland and the Criminal Justice Information System (C.J.I.S.) to electronically send State and Federal Criminal Background record requests directly to the Central Repository. The livescan fingerprinting technology they use captures all necessary criminal history information required by Federal and State agencies, as well as for private licensing purposes.
Hours of Operation
Fingerprinting is typically offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Fingerprinting services at Coppin State University are available by appointment only. You can book your appointment online.
For larger groups, special arrangements can be made by contacting campus police for assistance. Please note that services are unavailable on University holidays and during University closures.
Procedure
For fast and accurate service at Coppin State University's fingerprinting center:
- Provide the agency's name and authorization number if you are requesting a background check for employment or licensing.
- If the check is being sent to a government agency, you may also need a Z-ORI number.
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Print and bring the Livescan Pre-registration Application to any Private Provider, CJIS, or Government Operated Fingerprinting Service.
- Payment must be made at the Coppin State University Cashier's Office, located in the Miles Connor Administration Building, 2nd Floor prior to your appointment. Cash, major credit, and debit cards are accepted.
Following these steps will help ensure a smooth and timely process.
Fingerprint Fees
There is also a $20.00 fingerprint service fee per customer (Coppin's Service Fee of $20.00 is included in the price list below). All fees must be paid prior to arriving for your appointment.
