Bio

Elgin Klugh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Social and Political Sciences at Coppin State University. He is an alumnus of Morehouse College and the University of South Florida doctoral program in Applied Anthropology. His primary research interests include heritage, cultural landscapes, community revitalization, and Genealogy.  In his current role as President of the Laurel Cemetery Memorial Project, Inc., he focuses on the history and remembrance of Baltimore’s former Laurel Cemetery [https://laurelcemetery.omeka.net/].  Additionally, he serves as Coppin State University's representative on the Maryland Lynching Truth and Reconciliation Commission.  Dr. Klugh maintains active memberships with the American Anthropological Association, the Society for Applied Anthropology, the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, and the Oral History Association.
