Biography

Ms. Andrea S. King is a Management Information Systems Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Data Science & Management Information Systems within the College of Business. She obtained a BBA in MIS and an MS in IS, and she brings almost three decades of experience in higher education, specializing in information systems, data analytics, emerging technologies, and service-learning pedagogy. Her teaching spans graduate, undergraduate and honors courses in MIS, programming, data analytics, robotics, blockchain, and applied systems design.

Prof. King has held academic and leadership roles across multiple institutions, including serving as Assistant Director of the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program at Howard University, where she supported honors curriculum development, assessment, and NSF-funded research initiatives. Her service here at Coppin will focus on student engagement, honors education, academic assessment, and advancing ethical and inclusive AI education within business and technology curricula. She is committed to preparing students for data-driven decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the evolving demands of the digital workforce.
