Meet the Advisors
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Ms. Green brings to the First Year Experience department many years (16 to be exact) of higher education knowledge that includes student success. Ms. Green is often found attending events with students as well as providing a student friendly environment where every student feels welcomed. Having earned three degrees from Coppin, she is a firm believer that anyone can succeed if provided with the tools necessary to excel. We all face many obstacles in this journey called life, however how we handle the obstacles will determine our place at the finish line. It is not always to come in first, but to finish having run the best race you could have. You can often find Ms. Green out of the office around campus. Along with serving as the director of First Year Experience, Ms. Green also teaches courses in Health Sciences, Freshman Seminar and is still currently a student at Coppin. Ms. Green welcomes you to visit the FYE office to meet the staff and say hi.
Mrs. Breck Goode, also known as Mrs. B, is an academic advisor here at Coppin State University and has been working in higher education for 5 years. A native of Baltimore, Mrs. Goode graduated from Morgan State University with a degree in Psychology and obtained her Master's Degree from Walden University in Developmental Psychology. She is also a proud Avon lady, servicing the community for over 18 years. In her spare time, Mrs. Goode enjoys eating, gardening, and listening to music. If you ever visit her office, you may here her singing "Okay students, now let's get information." Mrs. Goode is a fun-loving spirit who enjoys making students laugh & encouraging them to make the most of their college experience.
Ms. Harper graduated Magna Cum Laude with her degree in Psychology and a minor in American Sign Language. Though born and raised in New Jersey, Ms. Harper moved to Baltimore with hopes of continuing her education and making a difference in the lives of student’s here at Coppin State University. She has 5 years of experience working in higher education as an academic advisor, as well as an adjunct professor. One thing she wants students to know is that her door is always open for support and guidance. Ms. Harper has a passion for mental health, self-care activities, and creating a life of balance. These values help drive her passion for educating students and ensuring that their first year is full of growth and success.
