Partners in Education
An Education Tradition
“It was in me to get an education and teach my people. This idea was deep in my soul”
- Fannie Jackson Coppin
These words from Coppin State University’s namesake Fannie Jackson Coppin began our legacy of community education of the community and is carried forward by Partners In Education. The center aligns with the Coppin State University mission of "empowering students, promoting community revitalization and strengthening relationships with local, national and global partners"
Partners in Education exist as an extension of Ernest Boyer’s call for academies to intentionally create answers to economic, social, and civic problems. In alignment with the university priority to improve the holistic development and completion of our students; Partners in Education increases public scholarship within the College of Business by creating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with local High Schools, regional Community Colleges, and community members as we believe it will enhance outreaching and research and therefore strengthen our brand and reputation as a leader in Higher Education.
