The Global Studies major at Coppin State University is an innovative, interdisciplinary and career-oriented program of study that prepares students for the increasing number and range of international careers in fields, such as business, foreign affairs, intelligence, development, health, law enforcement and social services.

The Global Studies program is designed to encourage study abroad and internships.

 
Program Outcomes

The Bachelor of Arts Program in Global Studies facilitates Student Learning Outcomes in four areas, as follows:

  • Recognizing Global Perspectives: Students will be able to identify and to describe global cultures and societies.
  • Analyzing Global Affairs: Students will be able to describe global economic and political systems, foreign policies and their philosophical underpinnings and to apply that understanding in analyzing global issues.
  • Communicating Ideas: Students will be able to communicate effectively in writing and in speech a compelling argument about global affairs that is based on authoritative research.
  • Foreign Languages: Students will have a proficiency in a second language at the intermediate level
