The Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance at Coppin State University makes available several dance education and performance concentrations that focus on dance as culture.
The Dance Program is committed to preparing students for a career in dance education and performance by providing them with an intense program that includes: (1) scholarly inquiries; (2) performance opportunities; (3) choreographic projects; (4) master class workshops; and (5) teaching internships.
The dance faculty consists of artists, educators and scholars who are committed to providing the student with a comprehensive and diverse core training curriculum in dance technique and research.
The Dance Program has several performance venues throughout the year for students interested in mastering their performance and production proficiency.
The Dance Program has teaching opportunities for students interested in exploring dance education as a career.
