Division of Institutional Advancement

The Division of Institutional Advancement directs and facilitates key development and fundraising activities in support of the broader Coppin State University (CSU) mission. Consistent with the role of the Coppin State University Development Foundation (CSUDF) we strive to cultivate and maintain a variety of collaborative partnerships and alliances to advance the larger educational, economic, and business interests of Coppin State University -- building strong and lasting relations with pre-alumni, alumni, philanthropic, government, corporate and community constituencies, in support of academic excellence.

Our secondary focus is on developing and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships in support of the CSU community development / neighborhood revitalization agenda; and to further public understanding and recognition of the University per its important role as a leading urban liberal arts institution in the State of Maryland.

Beyond our basic stewardship responsibilities – appropriately managing the acquisition, investment, and distribution of private gifts and donations; there is special emphasis on strengthening the institutional image; defining and articulating its core operating values, beliefs, assumptions, and philosophy; marketing the University to prospective students; fostering viable enhancement opportunities for faculty and students alike; and strengthening bonds with “alumni and friends of Coppin” – in pursuit of higher academic standards and per efforts to improve overall institutional efficiency and effectiveness.
