The Helene Fuld School of Nursing (HFSON) has a rich history of nurturing potential and transforming the lives of our students. Since you are visiting the website you may be a potential student, current student, a person who is interested in pursuing nursing or an alumnus. Within the HFSON, the faculty relish the opportunity to discuss the curriculum, scholarship and community-based research and service. The administration, faculty and staff are indeed committed to teaching excellence, evidence-based practice, scholarship and community service. Our students are encouraged to be actively involved in the teaching-learning environment. Students engage in clinical experiences throughout the Baltimore area with extension throughout Maryland. Students are involved in the community through experiences such as Take a Love One to the Doctor Day, the Power to End Stroke, World AIDS Day and the Pythias A. and Virginia I. Jones African American Community Forum on Memory Loss. Our students are transforming the healthcare delivery system whether in the acute care setting, ambulatory care or in the community. Our students are dedicated to working with vulnerable and underserved patients, families and groups.
Moreover, upon graduation from the HFSON, our students are equipped to continue in lifelong learning by pursuing either their Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate degree. Our program continues to prepare well-educated professional nurses who are gaining employment locally and nationally. Further expansion of our program focuses on global outreach in Barbados and Quito, Ecuador.
