Credit for Prior Learning

Credit for Prior Learning

Coppin State University (CSU) recognizes that some students may have acquired abilities through work, life, and military experiences. CSU is committed to assisting students as they transition from the global work environment into a progressive educational program using the base knowledge and skills that they have acquired outside the classroom. At CSU, we believe that learning acquired outside of the classroom is valuable and may be eligible for college credit. CSU provide the following opportunities for students to receive college credit for prior learning experiences:

Standardized Examinations

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations
  • College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST)
  • Military Coursework & Experience
  • Course-by-Course Evaluation
  • Challenge Exams
  • Portfolio Individual Assessment
