Fanny Jackson Coppin Scholarship

Fanny Jackson Coppin Scholarship

The University Scholarship Committee invites applicants for Coppin State University’s premier merit scholarship honoring its namesake Fanny Jackson Coppin. She was a former slave and pioneering educator. She believed it was important to get an education and to teach people. Selected scholars are expected to demonstrate a model of academic excellence in campus engagement, service to the Coppin State University community and excellence in the classroom.

The scholarship covers full expenses in tuition, room, books, fees, and board for out-of-state and in-state students. It is renewable provided the Coppin Scholar maintains at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average at the end of their spring semester. To qualify, you must have a high school weighted cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 and a SAT* minimum of 1140 or an ACT* minimum composite score of 23. This scholarship is for current high school seniors.

*Other factors including an interview will be considered in lieu of SAT and/or ACT scores due to difficulties students having access to tests.
