Coppin State to Host A Campus Celebration, Honoring the 400th Anniversary of the 1619 Arrival of Blacks in Virginia and the 2019 Harlem Renaissance Centenary.

BALTIMORE – The Department of Humanities’ Faculty at Coppin State University present ‘A Campus Celebration’ honoring the 400th Anniversary of the 1619 Arrival of Blacks in Virginia and the 2019 Harlem Renaissance Centenary at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the James Weldon Johnson Auditorium.

Special Guest Speakers include Dr. Sammye Miller, a Professor of History at Bowie State University, as well as Professor Peter Brooks, the Grandson of Cab Calloway and noted public speaker. Dr. Miller will speak on the theme ‘Lest We Forget 1619’, whereas Professor Brooks’ theme is entitled ‘The Harlem Renaissance Inside You.’
