Coppin Students perform at Baltimore Book Festival

Poetic Lyric, and PoeticDJ perform on The Ivy Bookshop Stage

Two Coppin State University students will participate this year in the University Writers’ Program at the Baltimore Book Festival, Sunday, September 25, 1-4 p.m.

Aalia Brown and De'Ja Alston will perform on the Ivy Bookshop Stage with undergraduate and graduate students selected from ten local universities.

Brown, also known as Poetic Lyric, is a senior majoring in entertainment management. De'Ja Alston, PoeticDJ, is a published poet, spoken word poetry contest winner, and double major at Coppin State University. 

Along with Coppin, other universities participating in the program include —Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Morgan, MICA, Towson, Goucher, Stevenson, UMBC, and UB. The readings will be separated into two segments, with a reception in between hosted by Artifact Coffee.
