Coppin makes Top 50 list for innovation

October 14, 2015 - Coppin State University has been ranked among the most innovative small college business departments by Business Research Guide. The ranking was published on the organization's website in September.

Coppin State University was ranked 43rd.

Business Research Guide selected and ranked the top 50 from among the qualifying programs. Schools were selected as a result of their size (less than 5,000 undergraduate students) and their dedication to innovation, as defined by applying the following rating methodology: progressive majors and/or course offerings, global business emphasis, and "wow" factor.

Coppin State University is an urban, residential liberal arts university located in Baltimore, Md., that provides academic programs in the arts and sciences, teacher education, nursing, graduate studies, and continuing education. An HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), Coppin has a rich history as an institution providing quality educational programs and community outreach services. A fully accredited institution, Coppin serves Baltimore residents as well as students from around the world.

"We are seizing the opportunity to become an exemplar of public, urban higher education by providing excellence and innovation in our academic programs," says Maria Thompson, Coppin State President. "We are excited that our College of Business has been recognized and ranked among the most innovative small college business schools in the country."

Coppin State's focus on experiential learning benefits students by providing hands-on, cooperative, and interactive learning experiences including internships, partnerships, and co-op experiences. The new, cutting-edge business management program can be taken entirely online, but students who choose a more traditional educational experience can participate in activities such as business dress Wednesdays, business etiquette workshops, and opportunities to pitch ideas in real boardrooms. In addition to traditional business course offerings, the school offers degree paths in both sports management and entertainment management. For more information, visit the following link:
