The General Education Program serves as the core of the undergraduate curriculum. The program consists of a sequence of required courses in communications, the arts and humanities, the natural and physical sciences, mathematics, the behavioral and social sciences, and emerging and interdisciplinary studies including health and information technology, designed to expose every undergraduate to the broad range of disciplines essential to the development of a liberally educated person.

New course or recertifying an existing course

If a faculty member is interested in presenting a new course or recertifying an existing course for recommendation as a General Education Requirement (GER), plan to electronically submit a copy of the course syllabus with the assignment rubric included, course data chart with three years of trends, the capstone assignment matrix data with analysis, and documentation that the course was discussed by the faculty in the discipline. Plan to identify which Institutional Student Learning Outcomes will be met by taking the course. A course can meet more than one student learning outcome.
