What is the SASA 2020 Start Date?
The start date is July 12, 2020.

What is the SASA 2020 Move-out Date?
The last Day of SASA is August 13.

How much does it cost to attend the program without the scholarship?

  • Maryland Resident: $3230.51
  • Out-of-State: $4734.51

Does SASA gives refunds?
The $200 application fee is non-refundable.

Can I be dismissed from the program?
Yes. Students who fail to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct or the Rules of the SASA program will be immediately dismissed. During SASA, students are not subject to the Judiciary process.

Are there counselors on campus during the program?
Yes. The Student Counseling office is available Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 PM. Students must make an appointment to see a counselor.

Will this program affect my financial aid?
Financial aid is not used during SASA.

Will my SASA grades impact my cumulative grade point average (GPA)?
Yes. Grades in SASA will impact cumulative GPA. SASA is a great way to start earning a high GPA.

Will I pay for textbooks?
All required textbooks will be provided free of charge by Coppin State University during SASA. Students are responsible for purchasing additional supplies such as notebooks, writing instruments, etc.

How do I successfully complete the program?
Successful completion of the SASA program includes (but not limited to) earning a 2.5 or above GPA, completing assigned tasks within the program, and adhering to the code of conduct set by the program.

When will I know if I received the scholarship?
You will be notified after the application deadline. Usually on the following Monday. If you wish to find out earlier, you may send an inquiry email to sasa@coppin.edu.

Do I have to live on campus during the program?
Yes. Living on campus is mandatory during the SASA program. Students must go home on the weekends from Friday evening until Sunday Evening.

Can I work during the SASA program?
Students cannot work Monday to Friday during SASA. If a student chooses to work, they may do so only on the weekends when they are off-campus. Students who fail to have their parent(s) or guardian(s) complete the weekend away form prior to the start of SASA will not be allowed to leave the campus.

Do I have to attend this program?
The program is not mandatory. This program allows newly admitted students the opportunity to earn college credits that will go toward graduation absolutely free.
