What is the SASA 2018 Start Date?
The start date is July 1, 2018.
What is the SASA 2018 Move-out Date?
Move-out day is August 3, 2018. All students must be moved-out by 10:00 am.
How much does it cost to attend the program as a residential student without the scholarship?
- Maryland Resident: $3230.51
- Out-of-State: $4734.51
How much does it cost to attend the program as a residential student with the scholarship?
- Maryland Resident: $200
- Out-of-State: $200
When will I know if I received the scholarship?
You will be notified via email 1-2 weeks after completing the online application, and paying the program fee.
Do I have to live on campus during the program?
No. While it is preferred that you stay on campus, it is not mandatory. If you are designated as an on-campus student, you cannot change to commuter status once the program starts. Only 30 commuter slots are available.
As an on-campus student, can I leave the campus during the weekends?
Yes. Students will select the weekends they plan on leaving at the start of the program.
What does my fee pay for?
Your $200 fee goes towards your meal plan. The total cost of the meal plan is $945. The university will cover the remainder of the cost.
Do I have to attend this program?
If you are a conditionally admitted student, you must attend this program to gain entry into the institution. Without successfully completing this program, you will not gain full admission to Coppin.
Can I be dismissed from the program?
Yes. Students who fail to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct or the Rules of the SASA program will be immediately dismissed. During SASA, students are not subject to the Judiciary process.
Are there counselors on campus during the program?
Yes. Counselors are available Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 PM. Students must make an appointment to see a counselor.
Will this program affect my financial aid?
Financial aid is not used during SASA.
Will my SASA grades impact my cumulative grade point average (GPA)?
Yes. Grades in SASA will impact cumulative GPA. SASA is a great way to start earning a high GPA.
Will I pay for textbooks?
All required textbooks will be provided free of charge by Coppin State University during SASA. Students are responsible for purchasing additional supplies such as notebooks, writing instruments, etc.
How do I successfully complete the program?
Successful completion of the SASA program includes (but not limited to) earning a 2.5 or above GPA, completing assigned tasks within the program, and adhering to the code of conduct set by the program.
