College of Health Professions

Compassion. Dedication. Excellence. There's a reason why Coppin State University's College of Health Professions has a stellar reputation of preparing caring and competent healthcare professionals: We've earned it. We strive to nurture potential and transform lives.

Since 1974, the Helene Fuld School of Nursing has been producing nurses committed to excellence and compassion. Our nursing programs are student-centered with outstanding faculty and staff support. The nursing programs are grounded in holistic, health care with an emphasis on vulnerable and underserved populations. Students learn strategies aimed at improving the social determinants of health.

The School of Allied Health includes Health Information Management and Health and Health Education. Designed to exceed the growing need for health information management specialists and health science professionals, we build upon Coppin State University’s legacy of educational excellence. We are proud to be the only higher education institution in the state of Maryland to offer an accredited four-year degree program in Health Information Management (HIM).

The College of Health Professions manages two nurse practitioner managed health centers, which provide readily accessible, low cost, high quality care to Coppin State University students, faculty, staff, administration, and residents of the neighborhood surrounding the University. The goal of the Health Centers is to improve the health of persons who reside in areas adjacent to the University
