Every spring, the University holds a traditional graduation ceremony for students to share their achievement with family and friends.
I Love Coppin Week
Every year in October, students show their school spirit during I Love Coppin Week. Events range from Fanny Feud, Scary Movie Night, Fanny Jackson Coppin's Birthday Celebration and Battle of the Classes.
In February, we welcome back alumni and their families as we celebrate Homecoming week. During this highly anticipated time of year, we come together to celebrate Coppin State University's past, present, and future.
Each year the Information Technology Division host Tech Mania. Students learn about on-campus technology while enjoying free food, games and giveaways.
In 1983, fall convocation at Coppin State University was instituted as an annual event. This yearly ceremony sets the academic tone for the year.
Black History Month
In the month of February, we observe Black History Month during which the campus celebrates historical, impactful African Americans. Past events include trivia night, film presentations, lecture series and museum trips.
Since 1929, students have competed in the Coppin Pageant. At Coronation, the new Miss and Mister Coppin are crowned as well as the members of the Royal Court.
Eagles Choice Awards
At The Eagles Choice Awards, we celebrate the academic and extracurricular accomplishments of our students. Contestant arrive at the show dressed elegantly. The award winners are determined by the students.
Every fall we hold a twilight candle lighting ceremony for our freshman class. The ceremony signifies their start of their academic journey during which they will have life changing experiences which will prepare them for future success in life.
Alumni Summer Concert Series
Each summer we host the alumni concert series with live music, food, dancing and vendors. The concert is enjoyed by alumni, students, family and friends. Who all come together and have a good time.
Clubs and Organizations Day
On this day, the members of their clubs and organizations give information to students interested in joining their group. Student performances are also held during the event. Being part of a club or organization can open a world of opportunities such as internships, scholarships and jobs.
Eagle Back the Birds
We at Coppin support our Baltimore Orioles. Students get free transport and admission to a game each year.
Coppin State Athletics introduces the women and men's basketball teams as well as the other varsity rosters to the campus community during Midnight Mayhem. Festivities include student group performances, the alumni basketball games, and a student athlete meet and greet.
