Coppin Repertory Theatre Auditions: "A Raisin in the Sun" and "Second Time Around"
During one audition process, Coppin Repertory Theatre will cast two spring shows, "A Raisin in the Sun" and a new ten minute play, "Second Time Around." Auditions are open to the public.
On Monday, December 10, at 6:00 p.m., in room 110 of Johnson Auditorium, Coppin Repertory Theatre will hold auditions for both plays. Second Time Around will be performed February 21 – 23 as part of a ten-minute play festival, and A Raisin in the Sun will be performed March 8-11, the sixtieth anniversary of its run as the first play on Broadway by an African American woman.
Auditions are open to all members of the community who can attend evening rehearsals on campus. Roles are open for seven African American women, one Caucasian woman, four African American men, one Caucasian man, one African American boy who must look and sound like a nine-year-old, and two men of any race for nonspeaking roles in A Raisin in the Sun.
