Coppin Repertory Theatre seeks seven women to perform our spring production of "for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf."

On June 26, 1995, reviewer Ben Brantley wrote in the New York Times,  "The stories these women recite may be largely hard-luck tales, but there is undeniable triumph in the very act of the telling."  There is also triumph in "the very act of" auditioning.   Auditions are open to the public and will be held Tuesday, February 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Theatre Lab, room 105, on the lower level of the Grace Hill Jacobs Building.  Prof. Willie O. Jordan will direct the production, and performances will run from April 12 -16.

Those who audition will be asked to present a one-minute monologue that does NOT come from this play and to engage in a series of movements directed by the choreographer.  Dance attire is not required, but those auditioning should prepare to move freely and comfortably.

For additional information, contact Prof. Jordan at 410 - 951-3373 or at wjordan@coppin.edu.
