  • Graduates who graduated in Summer 2020, Fall 2020 and Winter 2021
  • Graduates who graduated in Spring 2020
  • Only candidates who have properly applied for graduation by the designated deadlines
  • Only candidates who have submitted the Application of Intent to Participate. The deadline to complete the application is April 14, 2021.

Requirements for Graduation Participants

To minimize the risk of viral transmission the following protocols are required of all participants.

Degree candidates who are eligible to attend the in-person university commencement on May 14 will need to test for COVID-19 at the Coppin State University Community Health Center on April 29 or April 30 and on May 10 or 11. The Health Center will notify you of the testing times and how to schedule your testing.  If another COVID-19 testing center is used, the testing results must be sent to no later than May 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM.

After testing is completed, please plan to participate in a modified quarantine.

EXCEPTION TO TESTING: If tested positive in the last 90 days, an individual is not required to test; however, they must provide documentation of the positive test and MUST BE asymptomatic. In addition, a medical clearance after the 10-day isolation period will be REQUIRED.

COVID Vaccination

According to the CDC guidance, anyone fully vaccinated should continue to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.  COVID vaccinated does not mean 0% risk, hence in addition to wearing a mask and social distancing, getting tested for COVID should continue. PLEASE NOTE, A COVID Vaccination is not required to attend Commencement.

Out-of-State Graduates

Students traveling from out-of-state must quarantine for 7 days.

Everyone entering must wear a surgical mask (which will be provided).  A face covering can be worn over the REQUIRED surgical mask.
