Biography

Kelli Renee Jackson is the Director of the Digital User Experience Team (DUET) for the Information Technology Division where she has risen through the ranks since starting employment at the university in 2007. Her team supports and maintains all administrative and student desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, virtual desktops (VDIs), classroom and conference room A/V technology, University-issued mobile devices, digital signage and live streaming infrastructure, face to face, virtual and hybrid events, Windows OS and third-party software patching and endpoint protection. Kelli holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Computing and Psychology from Hood College and a Master of Science degree in Management from the University of Maryland, University College. With 18 years of experience in the technology industry, Kelli has a wealth of knowledge and a unique combination of skills ranging from technology and resource management, computer technical support, audio/visual troubleshooting, system design, control system programming, project management, data-driven decision making and analysis, and strategic planning. She has completed several professional development courses to enhance her skills in the industry and has her DMC-E certification from Crestron Electronics. In 2014, Career Communication’s Group Women of Color Magazine recognized Kelli as a “Technology Rising Star.” In 2015, she was a member of the committee that developed the curriculum for AVIXA’s Technology Managers Course and was a subject matter expert for the creation of the AV Manager’s course. In 2016, she completed New IT Manager’s training program at EDUCAUSE Connect in Miami, FL. In 2017, she presented at EDUCAUSE on “Multiple Approaches to Learning Space Design” and “Digital Signage as a Strategy to Transform the Student Experience.” In her free time, Kelli loves playing with her Boston Terrier, Zoe, doing home improvement projects, working out, hiking, riding the Peloton, listening to music on vinyl and spending time with family and friends.
