Applied Social and Political Sciences is a multi-disciplinary department comprised of eight disciplines. Our programs are rooted in the perspectives and methodologies of the social sciences. We offer six undergraduate majors in Sociology, Political Science, Urban Studies, Social Science, Interdisciplinary Studies and Nonprofit Leadership. Current minors are Anthropology, Political Science, Sociology, and Non-Profit Management Youth Development. Additionally, we house one graduate program which is a collaborative M.S. in Human Services Administration in conjunction with the University of Baltimore.
Through preparation in the methodologies of qualitative and quantitative research, the broader theories of social behavior and social dynamics, community engagement, and public and nonprofit sector administration, we equip our students with the skills needed for success in a complex and constantly changing global environment.
