The School of Management Science and Economics

Welcome to the website of the School of Management Science and Economics (SMSE) at Coppin State University. We are delighted that you have chosen to visit our website. The SMSE is organized in three departments: Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Department of Management and Marketing, and Department of Management Science and Management Information Systems. The SMSE has a new Bachelor of Science degree in Entertainment Management Program effective fall 2009.

All programs in the SMSE are designed to provide students with a quality education that prepares them for managerial positions in private, public, and not-for-profit organizations, graduate and professional studies, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Cooperative education, practicums and internships are carefully tailored with the academic training of our students so that graduates would gain meaningful experience in business and industry before they graduate. The SMSE runs the Consumer Education Center. SMSE also runs a VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program in collaboration with the Internal Revenue Service of the Department of the Treasury. Students are encouraged to participate in this and other endeavors to provide needed service to the community. The faculty is strong in teaching, research and service to the community. Most of the faculty brings industry experience to the classroom. You will find that The SMSE is very student friendly.
