Trajectory Dance Project presents "Moving Voices, Speaking Bodies".

TRAJECTORY DANCE PROJECT presents “Moving Voices / Speaking Bodies”, a performance inspired by the relationship between language and movement. The concert will feature dance works by Trajectory Dance Project and guest Spoken Word Artist Chris August. Trajectory Dance Project will present, among others, dances inspired by the female characters of Shakespeare’s plays, poetry, American Sign Language, and spoken word.

TDP is a Baltimore-based dance ensemble based at Coppin State University that is directed by Alice Howes and made up of professionals from the community as well as advanced CSU dance students. The work focuses on the human condition: concepts of community and isolation, social justice, and the struggle to maintain relationships despite adversity.  Although completely contemporary, the work harkens back to the early days of modern dance when profound human expressivity was paramount.
