Advisement: Regular RegistrationStep 2
Students must make an appointment with their faculty advisor or undeclared major advisor to select courses for registration. Freshmen and undeclared majors are advised by undeclared major advisors. Faculty advisors advise students who have officially declared their majors. Undeclared major advisors are located in the Freshman and Undeclared Major Advisement Office (Miles Connor Administration Building, first floor) and faculty advisors are located in the Grace Hill Jacobs Classroom Building or the Percy Julian Science Building.

It is strongly recommended that students meet with their advisors at least twice during the semester to discuss academic concerns and to be assisted with registration. During registration, advisors are available to see students by appointments ONLY. To participate in registration, students must:

  • Make an appointment to see their assigned advisors
  • Obtain the Academic Advisement Package (AAP) and the Schedule booklet from the Record’s Office
  • Complete the course request card with the assistance of their advisor
  • Upon obtaining the advisors’ signature on the bottom of the course request card, students should take the course request card to the Record’s Office to be keyed into the computer system.
  • Ensure that all prior bills are paid in full.

Advisement: Arena Registration
Students must meet with faculty advisors or undeclared major advisors to develop their class schedules and complete their course request cards. Students must choose alternative classes and obtain the advisors’ signatures in the event the first choice of classes are closed. Students must check the available class terminals to determine if their classes are opened or closed before enrolling (keying-in) classes. Available class terminals are located in the Tawes College Center. Counseling Reports and Schedule Booklets will be available in the Tawes College Center. All faculty advisors are located in the Tawes College Center Fireside Lounge. Undeclared major advisors can also be found in the Tawes College Center. Students are required to obtain the signatures from the respective departmental faculty members for each class listed on the course request cards. New students must contact the Office of Freshman and Undeclared Major Advisement Office before beginning the Registration Process.
