Campus Recreation

Mission

We offer recreational and wellness programs and activities for students, faculty, staff, and community members. We design our programs and activities to be fun, create excitement, and help our campus community lead holistically healthy lifestyles.

Work Hard, Play Harder

Welcome to Campus Recreation at Coppin State University! We offer sports and active programs and activities in our beautiful Physical Education Complex (PEC). Campus Recreation programs and facilities are open to both members and guests.

Membership

To have full access to Campus Recreation services, you must be a Coppin student, faculty, or staff member with a current Eagle Card or a community member with a Campus Recreation membership card.

Students and Campus Recreation members may check out equipment with a current Eagle Card ID or membership card. Show your ID card at the Equipment Desk on the 1st floor of the PEC, next to the pool.

Members can claim and report items in the Lost and Found. Our staff keep all items in Lost and Found for 2 weeks, and then we either discard or donate them.

Any items of significant value (i.e. jewelry, wallet, etc.), we immediately take to Campus Police.

Campus Recreation is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. We encourage all members and guests to secure all valuables and belongings before entering any recreation or wellness areas.

Every member and guest must show an ID card, membership card, or guest pass to use Campus Recreation facilities. When you present your ID at the front desk, you will get a wristband to wear.

Members and guests must put on wristbands within view of front desk staff, and keep them on while using the facilities.

Please note that the wristbands use a hypoallergenic adhesive. If you are concerned about skin irritation from the wristbands, please purchase a sweat band to wear on your wrist and place the wristband around it.

Wearing a wristband identifies you to the Campus Recreation staff as being a valid member of the Coppin State University community or a guest thereof, and allows you to use the facilities. Wristband checks are used to ensure that only members of the Coppin State University community, and their guests, are using the facilities.

If you use the Campus Recreation facilities and do not wear a wristband, you will be asked to please return to the front desk to receive a wristband in order to continue using the facilities.

Club Sports

Club sports are for any student who wants to join a sport to play competitively with peers and friends, or learn something new! You don't need previous experience to play club sports—club sports are not varsity athletics.

Why join a club sport?

They can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and have fun while staying healthy! You might even learn things you can use in a professional setting, like leading a team, making informed decisions, and resolving conflicts.
