The Sports Management program at Coppin State University prepares undergraduate students for professional careers in Sports Management in both the private and public sectors. The program is designed to assist students in acquiring organizational and managerial expertise in the health, fitness and sports management fields as well as to assist students in gaining an understanding of personnel management and supervisory dynamics. The faculty of the Sports Management Program is dedicated in ensuring that students acquire the knowledge, skills, and disposition necessary for high marketability. Professional companies are looking for qualified employees skilled in business, marketing, medicine and journalism. The curriculum of the Sports Management program enables students to gain not only extraordinary and theoretical knowledge from courses, such as Sport Governance & History, Facility & Equipment/Event Management, Community Recreation & Fitness, Sports, Ethics & the Law, and Organization & Administration of Recreation but also to gain valuable and practical experience from the degree requirements of completing both a practicum and an internship.
