Q. Does the McNair Program offer scholarships to Scholars? How much is the scholarship?
A. McNair Scholars receive in-state tuition and fees.
Q. What are my obligations to the Program once I am admitted?
A. Scholars sign a contract with the Program that lists their obligations. A copy of the contract is available in the McNair Program Office. Among the obligations, Scholars must attend weekly workshops and special Program-sponsored activities. Scholars must also perform academic and summer research projects with faculty mentors.
Q. Is my scholarship automatically renewed each semester?
A. The Program Director reviews each Scholar's records at the end of the semester. If a Scholar has met her/his obligations to the Program and is maintaining a qualifying GPA, the scholarship is renewed.
Q. Once I graduate from Coppin State, what are my obligations to the Program?
A. McNair alumni are tracked for ten years upon completion of their undergraduate work. We request that you inform the Program of your educational progress. When you receive your master's or your doctoral degree, we request that you send us a copy of your diploma or an unofficial transcript so that we can add your name and your picture to the Coppin State University McNair Wall of Fame.
