Coppin State University, a fully accredited institution and a member of the University System of Maryland, is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry. Founded in 1900, Coppin is an urban, residential, historically black university offering 53 majors, and 12 graduate degree programs to nearly 4,000 students enrolled in day, evening, on-line, and weekend undergraduate and graduate courses.
Successful candidate will teach Biochemistry, General Chemistry and Chemistry of health science for pre-nursing students. He or she will supervise undergraduate research and participate in department, school and university assignments. The candidate is expected to maintain and facilitate the delivery of courses using contemporary technology for quality classroom instruction.
PhD in Biochemistry
Three years of teaching experience in a four year university setting or a recent graduate with a Post-Doc in Biochemistry
Successful experience in obtaining external grants and understating cross-disciplinary research
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
Demonstrated commitment to higher academic and professional standards
Must demonstrate the ability to work well with pre-profession students
Demonstrated ability in developing and leading undergraduate research
