Project Focus

Project Focus is a collaborative effort which establishes a dual admissions program between Coppin State University and all Maryland community colleges. It is designed to encourage high school seniors who seek enrollment at Coppin State University to take the advantage of the collaborative opportunity to enroll at a local community college. Project Focus prepares students to transfer to Coppin.

Academic

Academic
  • Students benefit from a specially prescribed curriculum designed by Coppin and community college faculty
  • Students participate in a 1 credit orientation course
  • Students completing the program's 25 credits at the community college (including English 101 and all developmental courses) with at least a 2.0 gpa and are in good academic standing are automatically admissible to Coppin

Counseling
  • Academic tutoring facilities
  • Individual counseling opportunities
  • Access to Coppin library

Student Life

Project Focus
  • Access to cultural and social activities and campus events
  • Entrance to athletic events
  • Use of recreational facilities

Admission Requirements for Project Focus


  • Graduation from high school with a 2.0 gpa, or completion of GED
  • Submission of SAT or ACT scores
  • Completion of a community college admission application
