Patricia Locks Schmoke, M.D.
Patricia L. Schmoke, M.D., a practicing ophthalmologist in Baltimore, completed her undergraduate degree from Coppin State University and her medical degree from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine.
Dr. Schmoke, a Baltimore native, has strong ties to the community through her medical practice and involvement in civic and professional organizations. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Society of Sight; Maryland Science Center; Living Classrooms Foundation; Garrett Foundation at Johns Hopkins Hospital, a member of Links Incorporated Harbor City Chapter; The Monumental Medical Society; University of Maryland Cancer Center, and a diplomat of the Maryland Board of Ophthalmology.
Despite her very busy professional schedules, she has always found time to give back to the community. Presently, she is organizing bone marrow drives to increase awareness in communities with emphasis on minorities. As an advocate of wellness, she routinely sponsors eye health education classes and seminars.
She and her husband's generosity and ever present commitment to Coppin State University have allowed many students to matriculate. They continue to be great benefactors of Coppin. Together they started and continue to support the Patricia L. Schmoke Endowed Scholarship Fund. Most recently, Dr. Schmoke became one of Coppin’s inaugural foundation merit scholarship donors.
Dr. Schmoke, the former First Lady for the City of Baltimore, is married to Kurt Schmoke and is the mother of two adult children.
