Keith Reed is a Senior Editor at ESPN the Magazine. An award-winning journalist, he has more than a decade's experience covering the economy, pop culture, sports, education and other topics. From 2008-2010 he led Catalyst Ohio, a quarterly magazine that on urban public education as Editor in Chief. The magazine won national and reg
ional journalism awards including the Association of Women in Communications' Clarion Awards and Society of Professional Journalists awards under his leadership. He serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Prior to editing Catalyst, he spent nearly a decade as a business reporter and economics contributor. He has written about business, personal finance, the economy and philanthropy for the Baltimore Business Journal, the Boston Globe and the Cincinnati Enquirer. A prolific magazine writer, he has penned cover stories for Ebony and Black Enterprise magazines and written essays and features ranging from celebrity interviews to personal essays about relationships for Essence and Uptown magazines. He is a former contributing editor for Heart & Soul, a health and fitness title for African-American women.
His economic commentary has been featured on National Public Radio as well as on PBS' "The News Hour with Jim Lehrer" and "Nightly Business Report". He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
