Private Donor Scholarship Program

Purpose of the Program

The Private Donor Award/Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to continuing undergraduate and graduate students who have demonstrated academic achievement and financial need. This program is funded by donors who give financial contributions on behalf of the University to the Coppin State University Development Foundation, Incorporated. The main priorities of the program are to enhance student enrollment, maintain retention and increase graduation rates.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have completed at least 12 credits at the undergraduate level or 9 credits at the graduate level
• Must be maintaining academic satisfactory progress with a 2.5 GPA or above (current or cumulative GPA will be considered)
• Must demonstrate financial need

Application Process

April 11th through May 13th

The application is available online during the spring semester prior to the upcoming academic year.

• Must plan to register or be registered for academic year prior to completing application
• Must have applied for Federal Financial Aid

Award Procedures

The Private Donor Award/Scholarship Program Committee will decide which applicants will be selected for an award/scholarship. The program is designed to assist the applicant whose account is not totally covered by Federal Financial Aid or other funding sources. All awards/scholarships are based on the availability of funds.
