The Office of Residence Life Check Out Process
  • In order to assist you in preparation for final exams, 24 hour consecutive Quiet Hours will begin at 12:01 a.m. on the University designated "Study Day" and end with the closing of the residence hall at 6 p.m. on the last day of the semester. During quiet hours, stereos and televisions must be turned down to a level that confines the sound to your own room. Noise in public areas should be kept to a minimum. Please "look-out" for each other and respect the rights of others that have to study up until the last day.

  • Once your final exams are over, you must plan to check out within 24 hours of your last final or by 6 p.m. on the last day of school, whichever comes first.

  • Please make sure that your transportation arrangements are made early. If on the day of your checkout, your ride is to be late, notify the Resident Hall Director immediately. Have your bags ready to go. Do Not Start Packing After Your Ride Has Arrived. It is totally inconsiderate to keep everyone waiting.

  • You must clean and remove any trash from your room. There will be a fine for leaving rooms in a condition that requires unnecessary cleaning. All belongings must be removed from the rooms and taken with you.

    Please be reminded that the University is not responsible for your personal property. Anything left in the room will be trashed and you will be fined for improper checkout.

  • All room keys and student IDs must be turned in to your Resident Hall Director or Resident Assistant. Residents who don't turn in their key and student ID will be charged $50 for the key, $30 for the student ID and $50 for the changing of the lock to the room door. The cost of any core(s)/key(s) that have to be changed/made because you did not turn in your key will be charged back to you. Do not put your keys under someone's door, nor leave them at the front desk. Be sure to put them in the proper staff person's hand.

  • You must schedule a time to check out with your assigned Resident Assistant. Please do this as soon as possible. Not signing up for a checkout time will automatically warrant an improper checkout fine, and will cause confusion and delay. Assigning checkout times ensures that there will be a staff person available to facilitate your checkout. Your RA will have a list for you to sign indicating when you are planning to leave. They will note any damages or problems, which will be reported to the Resident Hall Director, who will check all rooms again.

  • Any damages or missing items in the room, suite or building will be charged to you. Please encourage your friends not to destroy the premises in which you live. It only hurts you in the long run because you are the one who ends up paying. Charges for any damages will be added to your account. In the cases where refunds are due, charges will be deducted from the refund first. All remaining charges or refunds will be sent to your permanent residence, as indicated on the university's information system. The Office of Housing and Residence Life will not be responsible for invalid addresses.

  • Any resident who is positive that she/he will not be returning to the University in the Fall should complete the appropriate section of theReturning Student Housing Application Form. This form may be acquired from the Office of Housing and Residence Life. Once your written refund request is received and should you qualify, your $125.00 application/damage deposit will be refunded less fees charged against you (if any). Remember that it takes 6-8 weeks for your refund to be processed. Refunds are not processed until after the semester has ended.

  • All room and board charges plus other college fees (tuition etc.) must be paid by the first week of August for all Fall semester residents. All Financial Arrangements For Payment Are Transacted Through The Office Of Student Accounts In The Business Office On The Second Level Of The Connor Administration Building (410-951-3677).

  • All residents are reminded that at least one third of the total bill must be paid in order for you to be allowed to check into the Residence Hall. Your bill must be validated. No student will be allowed to check in without proper bill validation. All fines and damages must also be paid before you can check in.

  • It is extremely important for students to understand that they should not plan to wait until the first day of check-in to validate their bills as this is a weekend day and the Business Office may not be open.

  • Dedmond Hall and Daley Hall will re-open for returning students check in on the Sunday before the start of Arena Registration. Check In Will Be Between 9 a.m. AND 5 p.m. You Should Plan To Arrive During These Hours As No Check-Ins Will Be Allowed After 5 P.M.

  • Remember your bill must be validated. A detailed check-in schedule is available from the Office of Residence Life.

  • For the winter break students may be required to remove all personal items from their room for necessary maintenance and housekeeping. Please plan accordingly.
