Demand for on-campus housing is very high and spaces are limited, some students who may apply for housing may not get a room assignment due to the number of people who applied earlier resulting in all spaces being taken. Therefore, the sooner you submit your application with the required fee, along with the contract and medical requirements, the greater your chance will be of getting on-campus housing. If a room assignment is not available for you, you will be notified as soon as possible. We will inform you of available housing options including the waiting list or off campus rental properties. The number of students who wants to live on campus can be greater than available housing space. This year some first-year students are assigned to other spaces within the residence halls away from the first-year floors
Please note that on-campus housing is not required by the university, nor is it guaranteed. Room assignments are made on a first come first serve basis based on all required documents being on file and space availability. Being admitted to the University does not automatically mean you will have a room assignment on campus.
The Office of Housing ensures that all resident accounts are properly billed chargeable services, damages and associated fines.
These services are included in your room and are available immediately when you move in. There is a cable outlet in each residence hall bedroom. Internet access is accessed by both wireless and Ethernet throughout the residence halls.
Each residence hall has at least two computer labs.
Washers and dryers are located on the first level of each residence hall, use of these are free and do not require any money to operate.
Our meal plan program enables students to eat meals in the Coppin State University Dining Hall during from 7am to 8 pm. All residential students must purchase the meal plan. Under our meal plans residents have the ability to dine continuously throughout the day regardless of how many times they enter or leave the dining hall. The meal plan has been designed to accommodate the various needs of our students and offer them a dine-in only all-you-can-eat format.

The University provides an "in-house" maintenance and custodial staff. Working closely with the Housing Office the Facilities Office conducts safety inspections performs general maintenance functions (painting, plumbing, etc.) and responds to work orders submitted by the Office of Housing. Technicians are on call after business hours and on weekends to respond to repair and other maintenance requests. Custodians regularly clean the public areas in and around all residential buildings.

Residents are responsible for cleaning their rooms (and bathrooms) and for removing their trash to receptacles. Each floor in each building has a trash room for resident to put their trash in. These trash rooms are maintained by our Housekeeping staff. Residents are strongly encouraged to recycle and Housing provides convenient means to facilitate that effort.
There is a central mailbox area in each of our residential communities. Mail is delivered daily Monday thru Friday. Large packages are delivered to the central mailroom and residents are notified when to pick up packages.

In the event of a misplaced or lost key, students should go to the Office of Housing to arrange for a replacement. Misplaced or lost access cards can be replaced by reporting to the ID office.
Please note that there is a cost associated with both replacement mentioned above.
Residents are responsible for keeping their suites and bedrooms clean and safe. Pest control for the entire residence hall is provided periodically, and on an as-needed basis for individual rooms or suites. Residents needing their rooms treated should submit a work order at the front desk for an appointment. The pest control representative is routinely on-site twice weekly or as requested. Prior to full pest control service, all food should be securely contained and placed in the refrigerator, and all furnishings moved away from the walls.
