Check In Procedure

The Office of Housing Check in Process (New Students)

• Must be admitted.
• Must be placement-tested.
• Must be registered for 15 or more credits.
• Must have received a room assignment (which means all requirements are completed).
• Should have a printed bill for Fall (or Spring, depending on which semester you begin living on campus) with you showing tuition, room and meal charges.
• Go to Auxiliary Services (in the Dining Hall, 2nd floor), show bill to get new ID (first ID is free, all future replacements, regardless of reason for replacement, will cost the student $55.00).
• Go to the building where you are assigned (Dedmond or Daley Hall).
• Show your validated ID, bill and schedule at the Key Authorization Table, collect your key authorization slip, and have your ID activated for door entry.
• Take key authorization slip to RA on your floor to collect your key and move in.

Students who have secured key authorization forms will be allowed to check in to the residence hall between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Check in ends promptly at 5 p.m. No student will be allowed to check into the Residence Hall after 5 p.m. There will be no exception to this policy. If you arrive after 5 p.m. it will be your responsibility to make alternative housing arrangements (eg. hotel/motel) until 9 a.m. the next morning.

If you do not check into your room by 5:00 p.m. on the fifth day after the start of check in, and have not contacted the Office of Housing to arrange a late arrival check in, you may lose your housing space to a student on the waiting list. If for any reason you have changed your mind and are not planning to live on campus, please notify us in writing immediately. This may prevent you from receiving billing and cancellation penalties.

Please Note: It is your responsibility to ensure that all check in requirements are met. Failure to meet these requirements can result in you not being allowed to check into the residence hall.
