All Global Studies majors complete a core set of courses, then follow an upper-level track in either regional studies or global skills. Many regional and skills course requirements may be satisfied by internships in global affairs, from study abroad host institutions and through the University of Baltimore Collaborative.

Global Studies CORE Courses (total: 45 Credit hours)


  • Foreign Languages (18 credits)

    Global Studies majors are required either; to complete 18 credits of progressively advancing coursework in one foreign language, or to complete 12 credits of progressively advancing coursework in one western foreign language and 6 credits in a non-Western language, or to demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language at an advanced level.
