Welcome from the Department of History, Geography and Global Studies.
Thank you for your interest in our department and in our programs. Ours is a vital and dynamic department, humming with activities, students and faculty, yet it is also a collegial and a nurturing place.
The department prides itself on the attention and mentoring its’ students receive. We take to heart our motto, “We measure success one student at a time.”
Our faculty-members are top-notch scholars. They have authored books and papers, have testified before the U.S. Congress, have managed museum exhibitions, and have appeared in television documentaries and on radio broadcasts. Their research and scholarly activities have taken them around the world.
Our academic programs are well-regarded and especially noteworthy because of our graduates’ successes. Many of our graduates have distinguished themselves as teachers, lawyers, government employees, archivists, national security officers, academics and in other careers.
I invite you to browse through our website to learn more about our faculty, degrees, and, clubs and activities. If you would like to know more, please feel free to telephone and to visit our administrative office in Room 410 of the Grace Hill Jacobs Building.
