Performing With The University Choir

The University Choir performance schedule is not a fixed schedule because invitations to sing occur throughout the semester. Concerts will be announced as early as two weeks before. Students will be expected to attend all performances. In cases where there is an excuse, a conference with the director is necessary prior to the concert. Excused absences will constitute an absence but will not necessarily change the evaluation outcome. There can be only Two Excused Absences

All choral students will be expected to:

• Attend rehearsals on time: in your seats ready at the appointed rehearsal time.Consistent lateness will not be tolerated.
• Memorize all music for performance unless a change has been announced by the director
• Wear the following attire at all performances (Even when choir robes are being worn):
  
  • Ladies: White blouse, black skirt, black dress shoes or concert attire consisting of the gown, appropriate accessories and black shoes.
    
  • Gentlemen: White shirt, black four-in-hand tine, black pants, black socks, black dress shoes, or concert attired consisting of a tuxedo, appropriate accessories, black socks and black shoes.
