Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility requirements may include but are not limited to the following:
- Admitted as a degree or certificate-seeking student.
- Enrolled at least half time (6 credits for undergraduate students and 5
credits for graduate students).
- A US citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Making satisfactory academic progress toward a degree or certificate.
- Registered with selective services (if required).
- In compliance with Coppin State University's Drug and Alcohol Policies.
- Demonstrate financial need as determined by the financial aid application.
- Must not be in default on a Federal Student Loan.
- Must not owe a refund on a Federal Pell Grant or Federal Supplemental
Educational Opportunity Grant.
- Students on a F1, F2, J1, J2 or a G series visa are not eligible for federal
aid.
- Have a valid social security number.
Special Non-Degree Students
Special Non-Degree Students are not eligible for federal Title IV financial aid (Pell Grant, ACG, SMART, TEACH,
SEOG Grant, Perkins Loans, Stafford Loans).
Some lenders provide alternative loans for special non-degree seeking students. Students
should contact the Office of Financial Aid to obtain more information on alternative loans.
